Launch of its first experiential museum in India, tem (for Toyota Experiential Museum), located at Phoenix Mall of Asia, Bengaluru. It covers an area of 8200 sq ft and is not merely a vehicle showroom but also offers a very multi-sensory cultural and lifestyle experience, blending Japanese and Indian philosophies through art, technology and mindfulness installations.
What it Offers Visitors: tem is designed as a walk-through space where visitors will be free to explore without guided tours. There is engagement of all five senses using visual projections and sound installations, tactile art surfaces, curated aromas and even tasting opportunities like a Matcha Corner that has flavor infusions from Japan and especially India, such as mango-flavored matcha. In the middle, an ordinary satin-draped Toyota car is surrounded by a cascading water curtain with mist and lighting effects to produce a soft and futuristic viewing experience.
Cultural and Technological Fusion:
At the launch of tem, Tadashi Asazuma, Deputy Managing Director of Toyota, said: that embodies “Happier Paths Together,” the vision of Toyota. It is beyond mobility; it connects culture, emotions and people. The inspiration was drawn from Sādhanā, an Indian idea representing a mindful pursuit of balance, and would be parallel to the Japanese ideals of precision, serenity and respect for nature. Among the key installations, there are mirrored projections representing seasonal changes most common in India and Japan, as well as an immersive audiovisual installation developed with the collaboration of the Japanese percussion group Drum Tao).
Additional Attractions and Visitor Info:

Besides that, there is a Design Café to display curated merchandise, with special emphasis on minimalist craftsmanship and culture. The Matcha Corner is also found at the exhibition where one could enjoy the experience of partaking in interactive tasting of the traditional Japanese tea culture infused with spices from India. tem opens to the public at Phoenix Mall of Asia, Bengaluru, and tickets are available through temindia.com or BookMyShow.
